If you're an avid follower of the food blogosphere, then surely you've heard of Yabu: House of Katsu.

Omakase

I can never get enough of their makimono/sushi.

Late Night Snack at Larcy's Cupcakery Cafe

I found myself pleasantly surprised with Larcy's Cupcakery Cafe. Located at 178 Aguirre Street, BF Homes, Paranaque City, it's an increasingly familiar name for the sweet tooths out there.

New Additions To Manang's Menu

Lately, my one place for good chicken is Manang's Chicken (which I posted about before). I always order the same thing when I go there -- and that's their chicken meal. I prefer their recipe to the other similar restaurants out there because their sauce is tastier. Unfortunately, because of my addiction to the chicken, I haven't had a chance to try out their other dishes. Good news though is that I was recently informed about their new additions to the menu and was also given the opportunity to experience them.

First up is the Garlic Pork Rice Meal, which costs P109. It's a big serving of pork topped with A LOT of garlic. And when I say a lot, I mean A LOT. What I like about the garlicky taste of it is that it won't give you a tummy ache afterwards, rather, it has a salty taste to it which compliments the pork and the vinegar sauce that comes with it.

Yakimix ATC!

Yakimix has opened up a branch in Alabang Town Center! They have only been operating for about two months or so and there still appears to be some things that need improvement, but I'm happy that we have it here now. Some time ago I posted about Greenbelt Makati's Yakimix, and I'm glad to say that we more or less went home with the same kind of satisfaction.

We arrived in ATC after work, which was at around 9PM. We went to check if they were still accepting diners, and we found out that their last call is at 9:30PM. Basically, we horded what we thought we could eat before their last call!

Metro Alabang's Food Court

Metro Supermarket is a fairly new establishment located in Alabang Town Center. As with most supermarkets, they also have a food court. What I found interesting about their food court is that it's not the usual stalls you find in most courts here. They have Sbarro, Buffalo's Wings N' Things, Serenitea, etc. The place itself is clean and the tables seem to get cleared out quickly. Nice place!

The Famous P.F. Chang's China Bistro

P.F. Chang's China Bistro is a restaurant which caught the blogosphere's attention when it opened its first Philippine branch last year. The first branch opened in Alabang Town Center. Around the restaurant's proximity are large statues of soldiers and horses from ancient China. The place itself is large and spacious. On its first few weeks it was incredibly hard to get a seat too, so you can see how someone would be excited to dine here if they haven't had the experience yet.

For starters, we went for the Sichuan Shrimp. It cost a whooping 595 pesos. It was a spicy dish and I couldn't get enough of it. The order is good enough for 1-2 people if you're eating rice with it.. Of everything we ordered, this was the dish that I liked the most.

New Obsession: Hapadog

Hapadog: Original Japanese-Style Hotdogs is a fairly new restaurant in Alabang Town Center. According to their website, they also have a branch in Legaspi Village, Makati. The branch in Alabang Town Center is cozy, able to fit maybe about 15 people. What I like about Hapadog the best is that it's a new kind of dining experience, in the sense that I'm not familiar with many places that offer hotdogs that have such a twist to it.

Outback Freebies at Glorietta Cinemas!

So after purchasing some movie tickets in Glorietta 4 last night, we were thinking about where to eat dinner. As it turned out, we decided to avail of the coupons that came with the tickets. For each ticket, you get a coupon for free Kookaburra Wings and one Iced Tea for every 500 minimum purchase at Outback. We actually made it a point to make our bill reach 1,000 PHP just so we could avail of two of the coupons. Hehe.

I've tried the Kookaburra Wings before and I have always liked it. The skin is crispy and the meat is juicy, and it has a unique taste to it which is the product of a good mixture of seasonings. The dish itself (when availed through Ayala Cinema's coupon), has five pieces of drumettes, which is half of the serving of the original order.

Kimpura - watching as your food is cooked

Kimpura is a Japanese restaurant located in Greenbelt 5, Makati, right next to Peking Garden. It also has branches in Greenhills and Trinoma. When eating here, you have the option of dining around a grill while a chef cooks your food in front of you. It's more commonly known as Teppanyaki. The first time we dined here, that one episode in How I Met Your Mother entered my mind -- the one where Barney ridicules Teppanyaki restaurants.

It's quite interesting to dine in Kimpura because of the fact that you can watch while your food is being cooked. You don't get impatient while waiting because it's entertaining to watch the chef!

Singaporean Food at Toast Box

For some reason, I was really craving for Laksa. At the time that I really wanted some, I couldn't think of any restaurants that served it (and I'm still looking for more, so do tell me if you know any). After some researching, I found out that the newly opened Toast Box in Alabang Town Center was a Singaporean restaurant and that, yes, served Laksa. I couldn't get there faster.

A Bunch of Photos from Omakase

As I mentioned in a previous post, Omakase will always be one of my favorite Japanese restaurants. I can never get enough of their makimono/sushi. This post is a collection of photos from multiple visits to Omakase. As can be seen from this post... I really am very much obsessed with sushi.

First up is the SAR platter. This is a platter of (clockwise, starting from the one on the bottom left) Salmon Skin, American dream,  and Rock n' Roll maki. We didn't enjoy the salmon skin roll, though the other two were pretty good.
