New Additions To Manang's Menu

Lately, my one place for good chicken is Manang's Chicken (which I posted about before). I always order the same thing when I go there -- and that's their chicken meal. I prefer their recipe to the other similar restaurants out there because their sauce is tastier. Unfortunately, because of my addiction to the chicken, I haven't had a chance to try out their other dishes. Good news though is that I was recently informed about their new additions to the menu and was also given the opportunity to experience them.

First up is the Garlic Pork Rice Meal, which costs P109. It's a big serving of pork topped with A LOT of garlic. And when I say a lot, I mean A LOT. What I like about the garlicky taste of it is that it won't give you a tummy ache afterwards, rather, it has a salty taste to it which compliments the pork and the vinegar sauce that comes with it.

They also have new fresh sides. It costs P29 for a regular serving, and P45 for a large serving. They have coleslaw, macaroni salad, and buttered corn. We tried out the coleslaw and the buttered corn. While not spectacular, it was pleasant to have something on the side to eat with the meal.

In addition to their dips, they have also come up with a Spicy Ketchup Dip. The spiciness was good in the sense that it wasn't overwhelming. However, even if it was good, I still thought that the Garlic Mayo dip was the best of them all (which is why we asked for two).

Of course, there was also the chips... it is called Chips and Dips, after all. Their chips are crunchy, and at P58 for a large serving and one dip, you get much more than you bargained for. Hehe, I wasn't even able to finish my chips.

In the end, the highlight of the meal was the Red Velvet Sundae (P49). It's a layer of freshly baked red velvet cake topped with vanilla ice cream and candy sprinkles. The innermost part of the cake is moist and warm, which when coupled with the ice cream, tastes GREAT. It's basically my kind of dessert and I'm happy I was able to try it out. This dessert, however, will only be offered for the month of February, so I suggest that the foodies out there experience it asap.

Verdict

We went to the branch in BF. The place is spacious and the wait staff was all smiles and very accommodating. I liked the new additions to the menu... and again, before the month is over, you guys should really try out the Red Velvet Sundae.

  4. It's always good to recruit an architect who can help you draft a plan for your room addition as well. They will be able to help integrate it into your current home's layout and account for any issues with the house's structure such as load-bearing walls. Not to mention, a plan on paper will give you a better idea of how it will work in practice. construction san francisco ca
